This sculpture was created my senior year (2007-2008) in my sculpture class (B. Springer’s class) and submitted to the deans office and Athletic Dept. in August 2008 hoping for it to be placed on campus for the the 100 year anniversary of the Razorback mascot. Unfortunately, for myself I was told that Jeff Long “loved it,” however he did not have the money to fund this project. My sculpture consists of a history book with a Cardinal flying in and a Hog busting out the other side with the base of the sculpture the state of Arkansas.

As history is told, in 1910, the student body voted for our mascot to be changed from Cardinals to the Razorbacks. I dedicated this sculpture to all the students who have ever attended or graduated from the U of A, one who has called themselves a RAZORBACK! I hoped that every true Razorback could find a truth in the quote that was also developed to go along with this sculpture in honor of Coach Bezdek. Believe and Endure to produce Zeal, Dedicate and Embrace for Kudos to take place! This sculpture is copyrighted under the name The Mascot Transformation.
