Faculty and Staff

The Museum holds an invaluable collection of cultural and natural resources. They provide research opportunities to individuals, as well as unique teaching materials. Here are a few examples:

  • Artifact loans for yourself or your class
  • Collection visits and tours for your class
  • Collection-based projects for your class (ex: exhibitions, artifact analysis)
  • Guest Website Contributor
Research Inquiries

The Museum welcomes study of its collections by the UA community. Access will be considered taking into account the following conditions:

  • The prospective researcher will contact one of the Museum’s curators with sufficient advance notice before any research is conducted. The request shall outline the goals and methods of the research and include the credentials of the researcher.
  • The curator shall determine whether access to the collections shall be granted.
  • The researcher is requested to give the Museum copies of papers or publications which result from the study of the collection.
  • If requested activities have already been conducted on a collection material in the past (ex: 3D scanning, destructive analysis), researchers can either see about utilizing the results from previous studies or provide an essential reason why such activities need to be conducted again.
Campus Exhibitions

The Museum does not have a centrally located public exhibition space. Instead, there are four small displays spread across campus. They cover a variety of topics, from UA history to Arkansas geology. Check out our on-campus exhibitions here to learn more.

Campus Events

The Museum is increasing its presence on campus through special events. The most frequent occurance is our Museum in the Union event. It is held in the Arkansas Union once a month in front of the food court. A small selection of themed artifacts are on display and museum staff are available to chat for a few hours.
